|Hi, I’m Liz, a small business copywriter.|
Small businesses have always been near and dear to my heart. My parents were both entrepreneurs — my father had a farm irrigation business and when he “retired” it was to operate a small town tavern. My mom taught piano lessons and later became an independent insurance agent. My first jobs were working for my parents, and there was never a question in my mind that someday I, too, would have a business of my own!
My educational background is in social work, and after working for 13 years as a social worker I spent two years operating my own counseling practice. Although I loved my clients, I really fell in love with marketing and communications. When my daughters’ school had an opening for a marketing director I jumped at the chance — and soon that led to handling all the communications for a large church in the Chicago area.
Once that challenge was under control (I’m still on staff to help and guide their communications), and my kids were in high school, I turned my attention back to my love of marketing by establishing my own copywriting business.
Writing for small business owners — whom I know first hand are so stressed and tired — is my passion. I truly enjoy helping people fall in love with businesses and watching those same businesses thrive!
